FAQs For Siding
Why should I install or maintain siding on my home?
If you are looking to sell your home new siding will increase the value of your property after years of wear and tear. Bright new siding will typically increase your asking price and attract more buyers. If your home’s exterior looks a bit ragged after years of long, harsh summers and winters, giving your siding an upgrade can enhance your home’s curb appeal and provide extra protection from harsh weather, pests, and make your home more energy efficient.
But why is siding so important?
Siding protects your home as part of its waterproof envelope. The roof, gutters, and foundation might act as the first line of defense against incoming water, but the siding also plays an important role when it comes to keeping the interior of your home dry.
Moisture is one of the biggest culprits in the deterioration of your home. It can cause excessive damage to masonry and cement, windows, doors, and even the foundation. Excess moisture can also create serious mold problems within your home. Siding seals out moisture and waterproofs your home against water damage, thus increasing the longevity of your home.
What’s better, adding siding or painting my home?
Siding or re-siding your home is a wise investment. Replacing your siding may cost two to three times more than repainting your home, but it can last between 25-50 years. So, while upfront costs are a bit steeper, over time siding costs much less for the long-term and offers more protection than paint.
Is all the old siding removed before installation begins?
Ideally, no. Only as much siding as can be replaced in a reasonable amount of time should be removed from your home during the installation process. This way, if the job needs to be continued over several days, your home is not left bare to the elements.

Do I need a moisture barrier?

In many cases, we install the new siding directly on top of the old siding – and in others, we’ll remove the existing siding before replacing it.

What is insulated siding?
Insulated siding is vinyl siding with an added rigid foam insulation, laminated, and permanently attached to the panel. It helps to reduce energy loss through framing and other building materials. It is a green option and perfect for homeowners who want to reduce their carbon footprint and lower their monthly utility bills. It can last as long as 50 years, which means homeowners will not have to replace it and contribute to waste.

FAQs For Paint
How does paint increase the value of my home?
Painting your home is one of the simplest and least expensive ways to increase the overall value of your home. An expert paint job can communicate to potential buyers that you have taken wonderful care of your home and can also help you sell your home that’s been placed on the market even faster, sometimes over asking price.
The aesthetic value of your house isn’t just for you. If you’re interested in selling your home, exterior paint can greatly increase your potential curb appeal. Curb appeal is independent of both home value and personal appeal (though it’s related to both factors). Instead, curb appeal is all about setting the right tone when a prospective buyer sees your home for the first time. Think of it as getting your “foot in the door” for a potential sale—if they like the appeal of the exterior, they’ll be far more likely to venture in for more details and you will stand a better chance of making the sale.
How does new paint increase my home’s protection against the elements?
Nature can be harsh on your home. Rain, wind, sleet, snow, insects, and fire are just a handful of the natural elements that could potentially damage your home—and the right paint can resist nearly all of these (to a degree). Think of paint as a protective, shield-like outer coating for your house. It can prevent moisture from seeping into your home, preventing the enormous costs of damage caused by mold and mildew. In short, it gives an extra layer of protection against direct precipitation damage. It can even stop insects from infesting within your home’s exterior.
Speaking of insects, termite damage is a major killer for wood-based homes, so being able to identify this kind of problem (and address it right away) is crucial if you want to save yourself some extremely expensive foundational repairs. Evaluating your home’s exterior before adding a fresh coat of paint can help you identify any possible insect damage early, and adding the paint itself can help stop an infestation in its tracks.
